21CrMoV5-7 threaded rod is continuous-thread bar stock machined from EN 10269 1.7709 round bar, supplied in standard 1-metre or 3-metre lengths or cut-to-order for field-cut stud applications. The dominant intermediate stock for retrofit and field-cut continuous-thread studs on steam turbines, pressure vessels and refinery flange bolting.
Two common pitches: metric M-thread coarse (ISO 261) for European procurement; Unified UN, UNC, UNF (ASME B1.1) for US procurement. Thread cut by single-point lathe cut for diameters above M30 / 1 1/4 inch; thread rolled for smaller diameters where rolling gives a stronger crest profile.

Manufactured to EN 10269. Thread to ISO 261 (metric) or ASME B1.1 (Unified). Class 6g (metric) or class 2A (Unified) thread tolerance by default; tighter class on call-out for matched-thread service.
Matched-grade Cr-Mo-V companions ship from the same heat lot on call-out: 21CrMoV5-7 nuts, washers, threaded rod, stud bolts and round bar.
Threaded rod in 21CrMoV5-7 is field-cut into continuous-thread studs for steam turbine retrofit work, pressure-vessel maintenance bolting, and emergency-repair flange bolting where a pre-machined stud bolt is not available off the shelf. See also stud bolts for shop-machined alternatives.
Default delivery is EN 10204 type 3.1 mill test certificate with heat number, melt-shop pour record, chemistry to EN 10269 21CrMoV5-7, room-temperature tensile and 0.2 percent proof stress, elevated-temperature 0.2 percent proof at the design temperature, Charpy V impact at 20 deg C, hardness, full Q+T cycle chart and dimensional report tied to the heat lot. Type 3.2 with Lloyd's Register, DNV, BV, SGS or TUV witness inspection on call-out and standard practice on turbine and pressure-vessel procurement.
Q. What pitch standards do you supply 21CrMoV5-7 threaded rod in?
Metric coarse (ISO 261), metric fine (ISO 261), and Unified UN, UNC, UNF (ASME B1.1). BSW / BSF on request. Custom pitch on call-out.
Q. What is the maximum diameter for cut-thread vs rolled-thread?
Cut thread by single-point lathe up to M120 / 4 inch; rolled thread typically up to M30 / 1 1/4 inch where the rolled crest gives a stronger profile than cut. Above M30, all production is cut-thread.
Q. Are the rod ends supplied with chamfered or rounded ends?
Standard is 45-degree chamfer to ISO 4753 to permit easy nut starting. Rounded ends or flat-cut ends on call-out.
Q. Do you supply matched-grade nuts with the threaded rod?
Yes. Matched-grade hex nuts to DIN 934 (metric) or ASME B18.2.2 (Unified) ship from the same heat lot as the rod on call-out.
